Two rich men's home in Barcelona
Late arrival due to metro system
This morning, we were in a hurry to Casa Batlló. My metro ticket had something wrong and I could not check in. With the help of staff, I went inside finally. My classmates already took the subway earlier. I sat in another subway. When I looked at the info panel, I was afraid that I took the wrong direction as panel showed I had missed my stop. I was relaxed when I saw the stop name on the top of platform which confirm that I was in correct way.
Casa Batlló
Out look of Casa Batlló
I was lucky enough to get access to Casa Batlló though I was late.I got there at 9:38 A.M., my ticket entrance time is 9:15 A.M. - 9:30 A.M. Casa Batlló does not have lot of fancy detailed decorations inside, most of which are composed with colorful China.
Inside decoration of Casa Batlló
The wallpaper of this room looks better on screen than real world.
There is special design in light shaft. From bottom to top, the color will transfer from light blue to dark blue, and the window will also decrease in order to get similar lighting in different flours.
Chimneys on the rooftop
On the top of roof, chimney are also decorated with small pieces colorful China.
On the way downstair, there are lots of chains, making an art.
Glass-free 3D movie
The small movie is displayed by advanced technology. All six faces of the screening room are screens. The animation looks very vivd even though it is glass-free 3D.
Expensive souvenirs
The souvenirs here are very expensive. And 150 EUR is a threshold for tax free, while gift shop in Casa Milà has no such threshold for tax free. And finally we know that student VISA cannot return tax back.
Casa Milà
Outlook of Casa Milà
Then we went to Casa Milà, which opens only top two flours for public visiting.
Inside decoration of Casa Milà
Just like Casa Batlló, the host of Casa Milà is very rich to hire Antoni Gaudí, a famous architect and designer, to design their home. Casa Milà has large space and area inside. Only one flour is totally enough for a large family daily living.
The attic of Casa Milà is unique and is inspired by python skeleton.
Sceneries on the rooftop
Chimneys on the roof top are smooth and curved.
The lighting shaft looks like a huge black hole, whose height made me fell dangerous.
There is a best viewpoint to get a photo with Sagrada Família.
Crowded metro
Then we took a very busy and crowded metro, which is very similar to peak of metro in Beijing.
Arc de Triomf
Arc de Triomf is the third triumphal arch I learned. It only has an arch, which is too simple compared to the one in Lisboa.
Three kings arrival parade
At first, I just want to go to seaside to see whether can I get some shells for my sister. But the street was blocked and the bus route was changed. I cannot go through crowded people in the street and learned that all of these are due to three kings arrival, a local important festival. So I just appreciated parade in the night.
