The first time to celebrate gregorian calendar
Dec. 31st 2024, we set off for our trip around 14:20 PM. Then we took flight to Cologne.
Most suitable flight I have ever had.
The bad news was that the flight was delayed. This time, I got a seat randomly which is near emergency exit. For faster and efficient evacuation, the space in front of seat is very plenty. Usually I can merely put my legs in front of seat with my knees against front seat. This time I can even straighten my legs comfortably.
Unique strain system in Germany
The strain in Germany has two floors, which is similar to strain in Japan, which I saw on Detective Conan.
And there is also no safety check just like what in Sweden. However, there is not even a ticket check here, which means whether you buy ticket or not depends on your honesty totally. I guess you will punished severely if you were caught fare evasion.
Awesome, fantastic, amazing, Cologne Cathedral
Because we were transiting in Cologne and took a flight the next morning, we got a chance to celebrate new year in Cologne. Before, I never celebrate New Year’s Day in Gregorian Calendar, but always celebrate Chinese Traditional Spring Festival. This time I had a new experience. In the night we visited Cologne Cathedral. Even though I use all the English I have learned in my life, I still can’t figure out how to describe the beauty of this church.
Crazy activities how Germans celebrates new year
Dangerous but spectacular fireworks
There were lots of people setting off fireworks near the Rhine River. In China, children are in favor of fireworks, but in Germany I think adults and the young generation are even more crazy about playing firework. People were crowded and so close to the place where firework set off. Branches of trees over the firework made things worse as they can change the direction of firework. Sometimes some naughty guys lighted big firecracker in the crowd which scared us and even made us deaf. So the on-site was very dangerous. BFE polices and ambulances were on scene in case of any accident.
Deafening parade celebration
Tons of people gathered spontaneously and worked around the church. When they went across the tunnel, they whistled and screamed together, even made you deaf.
